The Icelandic Tourist Board looking to expand services aimed at RVers 3695

The Icelandic Tourist Board (Ferðamálastofa) is looking to expand services aimed at those who travel around Iceland in campervans, reports the National Broadcasting Service. Many campervan rentals have extended their season and now include autumn and spring months. However, designated camping sites are only open during summer.

New environmental laws dictate that camping is only allowed in designated campgrounds and prohibit camping on private property without the owner’s permission. This poses a problem when campgrounds close after summer, leaving RVers without a place to park overnight. The Icelandic Tourist Board hopes local businesses will view servicing campers as an opportunity to expand their business further.

Loftmyndir,

Designated camping sites are located all over the country.
