The Icelandic Symphony Orchestra's concert cancelled due to work stoppage 2689

Roughly 3,000 members of the Association of Academics (BHM), an umbrella organisation representing workers with particular qualifications or professions, began a series of work stoppages today to press for higher pay.

Of the 3,000 members, 2,343 will partake in a four hour long work-stoppage which began at 12pm today. 89 members of the Icelandic Symphony Orchestra will begin their work stoppage at 7 pm this evening, meaning tonight’s concert has been cancelled. This is the first concert to be cancelled since the orchestra’s inception 65 years ago.
