The Catholic congregation in Iceland has tripled over the past decade, counting 13 thousand members.
According to Morgunblaðið plans are to construct two new church buildings, one in Selfoss in south Iceland, and another in Reyðarfjörður, east Iceland, and to extend the churches in Breiðholt in Reykjavík and in Akureyri. The Catholic Church owns 18 church buildings all over the country.
