The ewe Móra from the farm Heiði in Bláskógabyggð municipality in Southwest Iceland, surprised her owner when she gave birth to five lambs last week, reports Vísir.

Móra, part of a 100-strong flock, started lambing on Monday last week and successfully gave birth to three lambs. But farmer Brynjar Sigurðsson was shocked to find that she had given birth to two more lambs on Thursday.

“I thought I’d gone mad, but thankfully that wasn’t the case. I contacted other sheep farmers through Facebook to find out if they’d ever heard of such a thing and they told me that this does indeed happen, although rarely, which eased my mind,” the farmer said. Adding: “Móra is my favourite sheep, which makes the event even more fantastic.”
