If you've ever dreamt of taking a swim in a geothermal pool in the Icelandic midnight sun, now is our chance. The Blue Lagoon has changed its opening hours and is now open till 11:30 p.m. From the 30th of June, the lagoon will be open from 7 a.m. until 00:30.
The Blue Lagoon is one of Iceland's most popular tourist spots. It received over one million visitors last year. Már Másson, chief of marketing for the company, tells local newspaper Fréttablaðið that it's responding to demand from customers.
Over high summer many people want to take advantage of the bright summer nights, Már says.
The earlier opening hours stems from demand from transit passengers at Keflavík International Airports who have a short early morning layover.
