Kaleo already has a #1 album to their name in Iceland, but now they are ready to take their show on the road. The Icelandic band will try to follow in the footsteps of fellow Icelanders Of Monsters and Men, by making it big on the international stage.

The band first hit it big with their single Vor í Vaglaskógi, which now has 335K views on YouTube, a significant figure for an Icelandic band, which actually exceeds the total population of this tiny Nordic country.

Just outside Reykjavik Kaleo is from a small suburb outside Reykjavik, Iceland called Mosfellsbær.

The band's newest hit, All the Pretty Girls, is written in English, a key characteristic that is necessary for Icelandic bands to become marketable abroad. The smooth vocals of Jökull Júlíusson and the relaxing melodies of the instrumentals make All the Pretty Girls an enjoyable listen that illustrates the incredible potential of the band.

Veteran English rocker and  Xið 97.7 radio DJ, Smutty Smiff has identified this potential and hopes to help with taking the Icelandic rockers to the next level. Smiff believes that the bands has, … a definitive sound often blending Blues, country and Rock into there own style.

Smutty has helped Kaleo break out of the Icelandic mold, and his connections in England created the opportunity for their first performance in the UK – a live show in Shoreditch London at the Ace Hotel Club. The boys from Mosfellsbær town will be opening at the historical event, which will be taking place October 9th, and will feature the art and music of lengendary rock photographer Bob Gruen.

Gruen is a legend in the business and has worked closely with many rock icons such as John lennon, The Clash and The Sex Pistols! Kaleo's performance will expose the band to an entirely new demographic that spans much wider than their native Iceland. Furthermore, a number of famous guests are expected to attend the event.

The hope is that this first performance by Kaleo will help skyrocket the band to a new level of exposure in the UK. Based on their body of work so far, Icelanders know they have the talent. However, a good performance at the Ace Hotel Club in London could solidify their standing as legitimate rock stars both at home and abroad.
