The 13th annual Meat Soup Day takes place on Skólavörðustígur Street, downtown Reykjavík, on the first day of winter, Saturday the 24th of October.
The event is organised by shopkeepers on Skólavörðustígur and Icelandic sheep and vegetable farmers. Guests are invited to sample traditional Icelandic meat soup – a dish that’s sure to warm and comfort on a chilly day.
Chef Úlfar Eysteinsson will pour the first bowl of soup outside the old jail on Skólavörðustígur at 2pm. Five restaurants will serve meat soup this year: Ostabúðin, Café Loki, Sjávargrillið, Þrír Frakkar, and KOL.
