Swedish clothing company H&M is reportedly in talks to open two stores in Reykjavík in the next years. According to local newspaper DV, the retailer is set to open one store in Smáralind shopping centre in the suburb of Kópavogur and another in Hafnartorg in downtown Reykjavík.

H&M is reportedly in talks with estate firm Reginn which owns Hafnartorg, although neither company has confirmed the news.

There have been many rumors of H&M’s arrival in Iceland over the years but none of them have been true, to the great dismay of Icelanders who spend great amounts of money in H&M abroad.
