Bartender Teitur Schiöth triumphed in this year’s Brennivín cocktail competition, which took place in Tjarnabíó theatre in Reykjavík last week. Eleven of Iceland’s best bartenders took part in the event.

According to news website Vísir, Teitur began his bartending career four years ago and now works at Slippbarinn in Hotel Marina, Reykjavík.
The winning cocktail, Svartafell (Black Mountain), consist of rhubarb bitter, Montenegro liquor and Iceland’s signature schnapps, Brennivín.

Teitur received a trip to Tales of the Cocktail, the world’s premier cocktail festival held in New Orleans in July, as a prize as well as a bottle of Brennivín.
