The first edition of Glamour Iceland hit bookstores and news-stands yesterday. Swedish supermodel Caroline Winberg graces the magazine’s very first cover, which is set out in a snow-covered lava field.
“I’m extremely proud of our first edition and the whole Glamour-team. It was worth all the sleepless nights,” said Álfrún Pálsdóttir, the magazine’s editor in chief.
The cover photo, taken by Silja Magg, was shot during one of the coldest days of the winter. However, Álfrún says the model was extremely professional and did not complain about the frosty conditions.
“She didn’t seem to mind the -17 degrees (1.4 Fahrenheit) and was very professional. The cover reflects the ideology of our magazine; an international model surrounded by Icelandic nature – Glamour Iceland is an Icelandic magazine with an international twist about it,” she concludes.
