About Formula Off-Road
Formula Off-Road is a form of off-road racing 4×4 motorsport. It started in Iceland when Icelandic rescue teams started to showcase their 4WD cars and their capabilities in action in the unforgiving Icelandic hills in an attempt to raise money. It soon turned into a competition between different rescue teams and they began building vehicles solely for the purpose of competing off-road. The competition has gained popularity in the Nordic countries and regular competitions are held in Iceland during the summer months.
As descendants of Vikings, it comes as no surprise that Icelanders like their sports a little on the risky side.
