Strong gale developing in the south and west tomorrow, Wednesday 2465

3. mar 2015 09:58

The calm(er) weather the South has experienced over the past couple of days was a welcome change from the raging gale winds that have battered the country almost daily in January and February. However, the short lived break is now over as the Icelandic Met Office has issued yet another strong gale warning for the south and west tomorrow.

Southwesterly winds reaching 25 metres per second (90 km/hour, 56 mph) are expected in South and West Iceland tomorrow and some rain or sleet.

Northwesterly winds are expected in the northeast and east by late noon accompanied with hail or snowfall.

Temperatures will range between 0 to -8 degrees Celsius (18 Fahrenheit), becoming warmer tomorrow afternoon.
