Strong gale and snow expected in the east today, Friday 3901

The IMO warns of a strong gale moving across eastern areas today. Gusts of wind are expected to reach more than 20 metres per second (45 mph/72 kilometres per hour) near mountainous areas. The east will also see some heavy sleet or rain showers. Snowfall is expected in the central highlands.

The day will start dry but cloudy in the western regions, with some risk of snow in the northwest.

Most areas will see some sleet or snow showers tomorrow. Temperatures will range between 0 and 5 degrees Celsius (32-41 Fahrenheit).

Road conditions are widely slick and motorists are advised to show great caution when driving between regions today and during the weekend.
