Motorists are urged to show special caution while driving along mountain sides: The IMO is warning that wind speeds along Hafnarfjall mountain in West Iceland can reach 30-40 m/s (67-89 mph). Individual gusts which reach the power of a violent storm or even hurricane force can easily blow cars with a high center of gravity, such as camper vans, or pose danger to cars pulling caravans.
