The Icelandic Met Office (IMO) has issued a warning to travellers. A strong gale or more than 20 m/s (44.74 mph) is expected around Iceland today (Sunday). The bad weather will first hit the west coast around noon and the wind is expected to be very strong at Snæfellsnes peninsula with considerable precipitation in the western part and snowshowers in other areas except mainly dry in the east.
The wind can exceed 25 m/s (56 mph). It's recommended to postpone travelling until the evening when the wind will decrease.
