Police officers at Keflavík Airport recently arrested a foreign traveler who was obviously under the influence of controlled substances, according to the Police Diary. A search of his luggage revealed what police believe are cannabis products.

The officers noticed that the man behaving suspiciously and stopped him. The man produced two capsules which contained what Police believes were cannabis and cannabis mixed with tobacco. The officers found a bag with cannabis in his luggage, as well as two glass vials containing cannabis seeds. Police found the traveler was carrying a total of 13 grams (0.5 oz) of cannabis, all of which was confiscated.
The man was arrested and taken in for questing. He was fined 102,000 ISK (1,041 USD/841 EUR) for possession of a controlled substance.

At present we do not know whether the man was trying to smuggle the drugs into or out of the country as police has not said whether the man was arrested upon arrival or departure. While cannabis is illegal in Iceland the country has a booming cannabis industry.
