Stokkseyri, south Iceland, could become the most romantic town in Iceland should the plans of a group called Samtökin 825 Þorparinn see the light of day.
According to Vísir, the organisation’s aim is to attract more visitors to the small seaside town, which already boasts one of Iceland’s best seafood restaurants, Við fjöruborðið.
One idea proposed by the group is to dim street lights between 11 pm and 3 am (23.00 and 03.00) to create a more pleasant and romantic atmosphere. Dimming the lights will also allow guests a better view of Northern Lights during the winter time.
Travellers looking to rekindle the flames with a romantic escape can soon add Stokkseyri, south Iceland, to their list of destinations.
