According to Vísir.is Southerners can expect a ‘red Christmas’ (rauð jól) this year – that’s what Icelanders call a snowless Christmas.
Páll Bergþórsson, a meteorologist, says it‘s difficult to predict the Christmas weather with any precision at this time.
“A snowless Christmas is more likely in South Iceland at this point. But this is not necessarily the case for the rest of the country,” he explains.
