Former Manchester United goalkeeper, Peter Schmeichel, will be gearing with 30 cyclists to partake on a 150 mile biking journey around Iceland. Furthermore, the former Danish International will be riding for a good cause. The Manchester United Foundation, which works with young people in disadvantaged areas, has made an active effort to expand its reach internationally in order to promote the charity events.
The cyclists will be expected to complete the journey through rugged terrain, but will be aided by the stunning views and breathtaking scenery that Iceland’s countryside has to offer. The participants will also have the opportunity to take a dip in the blue lagoon before completing the ride in the capital of Reykjavik. “It is a chance to see some of the world‘s roughest and most beautiful nature,“ said Schmeichel.
