According to BB.is, a local news website for the Westfjords, employees of Dýrfiskur hf. found an injured snowy owl which had gotten caught in a net near one of the company’s fish farming enclosures.
The black-beaked white bird was escorted by plain to an animal clinic in Reykjavík. There it was discovered that the owl’s left wing was badly injured. The snowy owl is now being kept and cared for at the Icelandic Institute of Natural History.
