Smoked leg of lamb awarded gold in first Icelandic Artisan Food championship 832

The very first Icelandic Artisan Food championship took place in the Nordic House yesterday. Contestants came from all the Nordic countries and competed in six categories: Dairy products, Meat products, Fish and seafood, Baking, Berries, Fruit and Vegetables and finally Food Innovation. A total of 110 products partook in the competition.

Two Icelandic companies took first and second place in the category for meat products: Sjónarsker was awarded first place for their salted and smoked leg of lamb and Bjarteyjarsandur farm took second place with their birch smoke blueberry lamb.
