13. mar 2023 20:41

Two words: Slow down! Roads around Iceland are icy and slippery. You should not hit the road outside the capital area except making sure that your car is equipped with winter tires.

According to The Icelandic Met Office (IMO) we can expect showers of snow or rain on Thursday, which will make driving conditions tricky.

Highland roads, which are only meant for large vehicles equipped with 4×4, are closing rapidly. The Icelandic Road and Coastal Administration (IRCA) provides daily update on current condition of mountain roads and other roads around Iceland. And you can follow road conditions around Iceland live via IRCA's web cams.
