We reiterate our warning from yesterday, pack warm clothes and good equipment if you are heading to the central highlands or Northeast Iceland. There is a quite chilly weather ahead.
And even if you are not thinking about venturing at all from your car, you have to be careful if you are planning to drive along the Ring Road (Route 1)in the area as the Icelandic Met Office (IMO) is expecting sleet in mountains and a possible snow and icing on the mountain pass between East and North Iceland.
This part of the Ring Road is called Vegaskarð and is 500 meter (1,640 ft.) above sea level.
You can follow road conditions around Iceland live via the Icelandic Road and Coastal Administration’s (IRCA) web cams.
