A film crew shooting scenes for the second season of the Netflix sci-fi series Lost in Space will take over the waterfall on September 6-7, limiting public access to the popular site.

The Icelandic Environment Agency gave permission to the Icelandic production company Pegasus to drive equipment down to the riverbank by the waterfall and to construct a large platform in the river. Public access to the waterfall will be restricted during the filming.
Lost in Space is a sci-fi series which follows the adventures of the Robinson family which crash lands on an alien planet. The first season aired earlier this year. Netflix has not said when the second season will be released.
