At birth Pippa suffered a stroke due to lack of oxygen that left her with cerebral palsy and Lennox-Gastaut Syndrome, which is a serious, difficult to treat form of epilepsy.
Despite those challenges Pippa keeps defying the odds. She loves animals, music, and to travel. Her favourite band is Sigur Rós. She was lucky enough to see the band live in Kansas City last year. Her parents worried that the noise and flashing lights might spark a seizure, but the louder and flashier it got, the happier Pippa seemed.
After a difficult hip surgery in March Pippa had to spend days on time in bed. One day her mother put in Sigur Rós’s music documentary, Heima, which captivated the young girl and, according to her family, greatly helped in her recovery.
Pippa’s grandfather referred her to the Make-A-Wish foundation a few months ago. The foundation granted Pippa’s wish to visit Iceland, but unfortunately it was taken away again due to a mistake – but not before Pippa had been told she was going to Iceland. So her friends and family decided to make the wish come true themselves and are now seeking funding through Gofundme.com.
