Search and rescue teams rescued seven people this morning from two vehicles that had gotten stuck on the mountain road between Skagafjörður and Eyjafjörður, North Iceland. Two children, ages three and nine, were among the group.

The people called for help late last night but rescue crews were unable to reach them until this morning due to severe weather. Large wind drifts had formed over-night and nearly covered the vehicles. The people had all gathered in one vehicle in order to keep warm and are reportedly unharmed.
