Seismic activity continues to be high around the Bárðarbunga volcano system as the on-going saga of Iceland's pending volcano continues on into its 9th day.
A 5.7 magnitude earthquake was measured this morning at 01:26am, making it the biggest earthquake in the current swarm. The tremor was localized in the northwestern part of the Bardarbunga caldera.
At this point, most of the seismic activity is close to the edge of Dyngjujökull. The dyke is still migrating to the north, so scientists at the Icelandic Met Office are waiting to see what happens next.
