Seismic activity in the Bárðarbunga area has increased. Around 130 earthquakes have been detected in the area over the past 24 hours.
According to the Icelandic Met Office, IMO, No quakes above 5 in magnitude have been detected since 12 October, but five quakes yesterday were between 4.5 and 4.8. The Bárðarbunga caldera continues to subside at approximately 30 centimetres (12 inches) a day.
