A large scale missing persons search in Elliðaárdalur wilderness park yesterday evening failed to turn up any clues to the fate of 38 year old Rimantas Rimkus who has been missing since earlier this month. His disappearance was only reported to the authorities yesterday afternoon.
Rimkus, who is a Lithuanian immigrant, is tall and slim, 187 cm (6.1 ft), 74 kg (163 lbs), with closely cropped dark hair. The Metropolitan Police has asked anyone who has any information about Rimkus to contact the Police by calling 112 or by sending a message on Facebook.
Yesterday evening members of ICE-SAR units from the capital region launched a large scale search in Elliðaárdalur park to search for any clues as to Rimkus' travels. A car he had been driving was found at a parking lot in the park. The search continued until early morning, but failed to turn up any new information. Police has said Rimkus' disappearance is not believed to be connected to any criminal activity and foul play is not suspected.
