Scientists and members of the press have evacuated the Holuhraun eruption area. The eruption is escalating and seismic activity has increased in Bárðarbunga caldera, the sub-glacial volcano in Vatnajökull, Europe's largest ice cap.
According to the Icelandic Civil Protection this is a precaution.
