Motorists are being warned to expect disruption while road improvements take place on Vesturlandsvegur near Aðaltún in Mosfellsbær. Vesturlandsvegur connects the capital area to west and north Iceland. The roadworks are expected to be completed in November. Maximum speed will be reduced to 50 kilometres per hour (31 mph) during that time.

Gutters are being replaced along Route 1 in Hellisheiði mountain road, south Iceland. Traffic will be diverted along a temporary route until early September and maximum speed will be reduced to 50 kilometres per hour (31 mph).

Work has begun to pave asphalt over Route 1 between Helgamelur and Melasveit, west Iceland, and is expected to be completed later today. This will cause considerable traffic delays.
