According to the Icelandic Road and Coastal Administration the roads in Hrafnseyrarheiði, Westfjords, and Öxi, East Iceland, are currently impassable due to weather conditions.
Motorists are advised to show caution while driving Hellisheiði road, South Iceland, and Reykjanesbraut, Reykjanes peninsula, as ice and slush is to be expected on the roads today.
Ice, slush and snowdrift is expected in northern parts of the country. Snow, ice and hail can be expected in East Iceland and in the Westfjords.
Weather forecast for Tuesday, October 21: Northwest winds between 18 to 25 m/s, and snow or snowshowers in the northern and eastern regions, strongest in the headlands. Gradually decreasing wind and precipitation today.
Northwest 10 to 15 and snowshowers in the northeast by evening, else light variable wind and fair in places. Sleet or rain expected in the South tomorrow, but snow in the North. Temperatures between 1 to 6 degrees Celsius (33 to 43 Fahrenheit) in the southernmost part, elsewhere widely around freezing point.
