According to a new poll by Capacent Reykjavík's coalition government is gaining support. The poll shows that the four parties that form the capital's government are supported by almost 70% of the voters. The Social Democratic Alliance (Samfylkingin) has 28,9% share and is the largest party in the city, Bright Future (Björt Framtíð) has 17.7%, the Pirate Party has 10.6% and the Left Greens (Vinstrihreyfingin grænt framboð) have 10.1%.

The two parties that form Iceland's coalition government are supported by less than a third of voters in the capital. The Independence Party (Sjálfstæðisflokkurinn) has 25.3% and the Progressive Party (Framsóknarflokkurinn), the party of Iceland's Prime Minister Sigmundur Davíð Gunnlaugsson, has 5.6% and is the smallest party in the capital.

Local elections were held in Iceland last spring.
