According to Fréttablaðið newspaper, Reykjavík harbour is the port with the largest quantity of coldwater fish landed. 87,551 tonnes of coldwater fish was landed in Reykjavík port in 2015.
Grindavík port, Reykjanes peninsula, came second, with 46,370 tonnes landed.
Coldwater fish is fish such as cod, monkfish, ling and haddock. These fish prefer to be in deeper, colder waters.
