Restrictions on roads and areas in Jökulsárgljúfur canyon up to Dettifoss waterfall are still in effect 440

The Civil Protection unit of the The National Commissioner of the Icelandic Police has decided to move the emergency phase back to alert phase. The decision is taken in collaboration with the District Police Commissioners in the towns of Húsavík, North Iceland and Seyðisfjörður, East Iceland. 

Restrictions on roads and areas in Jökulsárgljúfur canyon up to Dettifoss waterfall are still in effect, as well as closures in the highlands North of Vatnajökull glacier. That means that the area is closed for all traffic, driving and hiking.
