The puffin population in Iceland is somewhat recovering, reports Morgunblaðið newspaper.

A team of biologists is currently travelling around Iceland to conduct a population count. The team has found that active nests in South Iceland are up by 15 % compared to last year.

This positive turnaround is to be celebrated as puffin colonies in South Iceland have been in decline over the past years.
