According to a new poll the Progressive Party (Framsóknarflokkurinn), prime minister Sigmundur Davíð Gunnlaugsson's party, is now the least popular party of those that have representatives in Alþingi, Iceland’s parliament.
Capacent Gallup conducted the poll in February. It shows that the coalition government of the Progressive Party and the Independence Party (Sjálfstæðisflokkurinn) has the support of 37.1% of the nation.
The parties were voted into power with 51.1% of the popular vote in the spring of 2013.
As in recent polls the Progressive Party keeps getting thrashed. In the 2013 elections the party got 24.4% of the votes, now the support for the party has plunged to 11%.
The Independence Party is supported by 26.1% in the new poll (26.7% in the 2013 elections).
The Social Democratic Alliance (Samfylkingin) has 17.1% share of the support (12.9% in the 2013 elections) and is the second best supported party in the country.
In the third seat is the Pirate Party with 15.2% support (5.1% in the 2013 elections).
Bright Future (Björt Framtíð) has 13.3% (8.2% in the 2013 elections) and the Left Greens (Vinstrihreyfingin grænt framboð) 11.2% (10.9% in the elections).

No party, that does not have members on the parliament, receives above 1% support in the poll.
