Yesterday journalist and photographer from the Norwegian newspaper Aftenposten were stopped and interviewed by officers from the Metropolitan Police after they attempted to capture an interview and photographs of the Prime Minister of Iceland. The incident took place by the home of Sigmundur.

According to Aftenposten the journalists had staked out at the home of the Prime Minister, hoping to get his reaction to the revelations in the “Panama Documents” that he is connected to an off-shore company in the notorious tax-haven Tortola. Sigmundur has refused to talk to media or answer several key questions about the revelations, going so far as to categorically refusing any interviews with the Icelandic National Broadcasting Service.

When the Prime Minister arrived with his wife, Anna Sigurlaug Pálsdóttir, she exited the car and came up to the Norwegian journalists. Anna Sigurlaug told the journalists that Sigmundur would not offer an interview or talk to the journalists. All the while the Prime Minister sat in his car, talking on the phone, according to Aftenposten.
Stopped by police as they were leaving
A few minutes later, as the journalists were packing their equipment up, a police car pulls up with two officers. The officers then interview the journalists, asking for their passports and press credentials. After they had checked the documents the officers walked up to the Prime Minister, who then entered his home.
