According to Fréttablaðið newspaper, the ever popular burger joint, Hamborgarabúlla Tómasar, will open a new restaurant in Copenhagen’s meatpacking district, Kødbyen, in May. The area has recently been revitalized and is now one of the most happening places in down-town Copenhagen.
The restaurant’s owners are father and son Örn Hreinsson and Hreinn Ágústsson but Valdimar Geir Halldórsson will manage daily operations.
“The restaurant’s location is fantastic. We are surrounded by many great restaurants and quirky bars,” explains Valdimar Geir.
Tómas Tómasson is the man behind the franchise and its concept. The restaurants are known for their American diner inspired interior, simple and tasty menu and the favoured “deal of the century”, which includes a classic burger, fries and a drink for a reasonable price. There are six restaurants to be found in Iceland, two additional ones, called Tommi’s Burger Joint, recently opened on Kings Road and Thayer Street in London.
