The police in northeast Iceland is searching for a missing tourist who vanished while on holiday near the Askja region. Anyone who may have information as to Norbert Hillebrand’s whereabouts is asked to contact the police, 444-2800.
The man rented a Dacia Duster vehicle, registration number HG L95, from car rental Bílaleiga Akureyrar on the 26th of July and was to return the vehicle on Tuesday, 28th of July, but failed to show up. He was planning to drive to the Askja region, northeast Iceland. Norbert, who is German, is scheduled to fly back home on Thursday, 6th of August.
