Local police were called to a beach near Sandgerði town on Reykjanes peninsula to help a seal that appeared to be in trouble on Wednesday. At first, police believed the seal was sick and called local seal experts to assist them, according to the National Broadcasting Service RÚV.
However, when the flood came in it became apparent that the seal had simply been beached. Back in the ocean, he swam away merrily according to police.
