Police advices people not to leave valuables in parked cars following wave of break-ins 1804

Following a wave of break-ins into parked cars in recent days the Metropolitan Police has issued a warning, advising people not to leave valuables in cars, or to ensure that no valuables are visible through the car's windows. 

A number of break-ins into cars have been reported in the residential areas east of downtown Reykjavík, as well as by the old harbour in downtown Reykjavík. At least eight cars have been burglarized.

People are also asked to keep an eye on suspicious activity near parked cars and to alert police if they notice suspicious activity. Tips can be sent to the Metropolitan police through it's Facebook page or by email, [email protected]
