A 17-year old farmer told ruv.is that her dad had woken her up early yesterday morning to see 50-60 pilot whales gathered in the fjord.
The whales didn’t seem to want to leave and residents believe that there must be plenty of food for them in the fjord, most likely mackerel. The 17-year old told ruv.is that according to her grandfather, nothing like this has ever been seen before.

Shocked and pleased, residents at Steintún farm in Norðurfjörður, jumped into their boat and sailed towards a school of pilot whales yesterday morning.
