With Iceland's loss against Croatia at the World Cup Icelanders are down to just one thing to unify the nation: Desperately waiting for summer.
For all of May and June Icelanders have been unified in anticipation, hope and support for the national soccer team – and the desperate hope that summer will arrive at some point, bringing with it temperatures in the double digits and at least some sun. Unfortunately we have gotten only one or two decent summer days in the capital region. The rest of May and June have been overcast or rainy.

To correctly reflect this sad state of affairs a local man decided to correct the European map, replacing Iceland with the emoji for the Icelandic summer of 2018: Rain.
