Work on the Langjökull ice tunnel is progressing nicely and the cave is due to open in June.
Langjökull is located in west Iceland and is the country’s second largest ice cap, second only to the vast Vatnajökull. The tunnel is the brainchild of various travel companies operating on the glacier and engineering company Efla and will feature a chapel, restaurant, and an information centre where one can learn more about the glacier. Tours into the ice cave will be available all year round.
