The following photos, taken by local photographer Snorri Þór Tryggvason from a rooftop in downtown Reykjavík yesterday at 23:00 prove this point! The view of downtown pond Tjörnin and the City Center bathing in the Aurora proves that Reykjavík is a city like no other.
Snorri told Iceland Insider that he wanted to capture a couple of different shots of the Aurora, so he climbed onto the roof and snapped the following photos.
