The Secret Solstice Music Festival took place for the second time during the weekend. This year’s line-up included international artists such as Wu Tang Clan, Busta Rhymes, FKA Twigs, Kelis, the Wailers, MØ, Route 94, Nightmares on Wax and Icelandic artists such as Úlfur Úlfur, Retro Stefson, Múgison, and FM Belfast. The three-day festival took place in Laugardalur valley, Reykjavík, during the longest days of summer.
It is somewhat ballsy to organise and outdoor event in Iceland, as the weather is highly unpredictable – however, the weather gods were kind to festival goers again this year and lavished calm, sunny weather upon them.
Ásdís Guðmundsdóttir and Stígur Már Karlsson attended the concerts with their two children on Saturday afternoon. The family enjoyed the Wailers’ performance and the sunny weather.
Matthew Schmidt and Eryn Thorsley from Canada planed their trip to Iceland around the Secret Solstice Festival. The couple had enjoyed their time in Iceland but had trouble sleeping through the 24 hours of sunlight.
