Pets now allowed on Reykjavík buses: A local woman celebrated by taking her horse on the bus 7804

Last week the Metropolitan public transit system changed its rules on pets to permit people to take their animal friends with them on the bus. While it's primarily been dog owners who have lobbied for the new rule, it's been welcomed by other animal lovers as well.

A young local woman, Jónína Sif Eyþórsdóttir, decided to celebrate the new rules by taking her horse on a bus ride. The horse, whose name is Stormsker (Storm-skerry), is one of the most popular horses of Jónína's horse rental Iceland Riding. Stormsker appeared to take the bus ride in stride, as can be seen from the photo above. Jónína provided the photo to the local newspaper Fréttablaðið.

It is unlikely that you will run into many horses on Reykjavík buses, for the very simple reason that horses are not all that keen on public transport.
