Jón Gunnarsson, the committee’s director, believes a simple parking fee would be an easy and efficient way to generate revenue in order to repair and maintain the sites, as well as to improve tourist facilities.

According to Morgunblaðið, Ragnheiður Elín Árnadóttir, minister of Industries and Innovation, is currently looking into the matter.
