Only one offer has been made to purchase the farmland Fell on Jökulsárlón, Southeast Iceland, reports the National Broadcasting Service. The famous Jökulsárlón glacial lagoon is part of the land, so whoever purchases Fell will also be the owner of one of Iceland’s most popular tourist spots.
Interested parties can make an offer until the 24th of July.
Jökulsárlón is located on the edge of Vatnajökull National Park, a short distance from Breiðamerkurjökull outlet glacier. It came into existence around 60 years ago, when Vatnajökull began to retreat due to climate warming. As it did so, it left deep gorges which then filled with meltwater and icebergs.
